We have lived in our Kuhns Brothers log home for several months now.  What we are noticing are all the little details you added instead of things you could have skipped.  For instance, expert mitering, the care you took to center the balusters and railings, tight windows, and more.  I have rebuilt homes for years and I know where to look.  You didn't miss anything.  You're as picky as me and I like that!

I think the best example of going the extra mile was the barn you built for us.  Now usually, I would think a contractor would not pay so much attention to detail in a horse barn but... I've been spending a lot of time in the barn adding stalls.  While I was taking measurements, I didn't find one beam or support off level.  What really impressed me was how you, on your own, had the excavator raise the ground level in and around the barn.  I forgot to ask you to do that.  You could have skipped that to save time.

We could go on and on about the detail and care you put into the construction but I don't want to write a book.  Let me just mention one other important item that impressed us.  Your project management skills.  It took several other subcontractors to add the septic, stack, stucco, well, plumbing, heating and cooling.  The coordination and selection of these other contractors was excellent.  There was no confusion, no mistakes, everything seemed to be working properly.  It seems that you expected the same craftsmanship from your subs as you did from your own crew.  You were, in the wettest summer I have ever encountered, on time and on budget and we thank you.

________ admired how you treated us equally.  She was impressed with your courteous and professional manner and how you and Joyce work as a team, too.  She had a great time designing our kitchen and then seeing it come to life from her drawings.

We would recommend you to anyone who wants true quality, hassle free construction and craftsmanship.  We really think we have something we're proud to show other people and, something we know will not fall apart in 30 years.  Feel free to have any prospective customer call us or come see our log home or barn.

Jim easily took the construction of our new house from the idea stage up through the finished home.  He provided suggestions and willingly accepted our last minute changes.  Jim took all the time necessary to explain the whys and wherefores of our many and repeated questions.  When any problems arose he handled them with aplomb and, where possible, resolved them immediately.

Wrapping of all those posts, the innovative wrapped "handrails" on the balconies, wrapping of all (28) windows, doors and trim (including the miles of caulking), had to be a difficult job, yet was done beyond my satisfaction.

The fascia, soffit, gutters and downspouts also look very good.  Installation of siding on the dormers and front porch and the new porch windows and door again look near perfect.  In fact, as much as I inspected your work, I cannot find anything that I am not satisfied with.

Your craftsmanship and materials are all first class.  You did one fine job and finished on schedule; which was important to me.  Should you ever need a reference please feel free to use me.

Mr. Holton willingly worked with us during all phases of planning, construction and clean up.  He provided valuable input and suggestions during this project.  The project was started and completed in a timely manner and Mr. Holton and his employees were always very courteous and polite.  Every effort was taken to keep us informed and updated on the progress and status of the project and to minimize the inconvenience to our family.

The quality of his craftsmanship and his attention to detail separates his work from other contractors in the area.  His stated goal was to make this addition and remodeling appear as if it were part of the original construction.  We believe that he has met this goal and only wish that the original construction had been of the quality and craftsmanship that he provided.
